    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroconductive silicone rubber sponge composition capable of obtaining a low density electroconductive silicone rubber sponge with good reproducibility which rubber sponge has uniform form closed cells, when performing normal pressure hot-air vulcanization by using sodium hydrogen carbonate low in toxicity as the foaming agent, and to provide a method for producing the electroconductive silicone rubber sponge. SOLUTION: The electroconductive silicone rubber sponge composition comprises (A) a silicone rubber compound comprising an organopolysiloxane represented by the formula: R 1 n SiO (4-n)/2 (I) (R 1 is a univalent hydrocarbon having two or more alkenyl in a molecule; and n is a positive number of 1.95-2.05) and reinforcing silica, wherein the water content before crosslinking is ≤0.5 mass%, (B) a non-cyano organoazo foaming agent having characteristics of thickening or curing the ingredient (A) by thermal decomposition, (C) sodium hydrogen carbonate, (D) electroconductive carbon and (E) an addition reaction curing agent comprising organohydrogenepolysiloxane and a platinum group metal catalyst, and forms a low density highly foamed electroconductive rubber sponge with ≥70% closed cell ratio of the sponge cells obtained by crosslinking and having ≤0.3 g/cm 3 sponge density.
