    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe new oligosaccharide usable for a medicine, a food and drink, a fodder or the like, and having excellent stability and α-glucosidase-inhibiting activity, and to provide a method for producing the oligosaccharide, and an α-glucosidase inhibitor containing the oligosaccharide. SOLUTION: The new oligosaccharide is typified by α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)]-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-D-glucopyranoside. The α-glucosidase inhibitor contains the oligosaccharide. The method for producing the oligosaccharide includes hydrolyzing a roasted dextrin with an acid, and collecting the specified oligosaccharides from a decomposed product obtained by digesting the hydrolyzate with an α-amylase, and successively digesting the digested product with a glucoamylase.
