    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which is best suited for ink jet recording and forms a water-proof image with an assurance that the high water resistance effect on an image by a water-soluble substance which triggers condensation polymerization reaction following the evaporation of water, can be more positively obtained, in a method for forming an image on a base material to be printed by discharging ink containing the water-soluble substance e.g. an organic silicon compound following the evaporation of water by ink jet recording process, and ink for ink jet recording to be used in this method, an ink jet recording device and an image forming object recorded by the ink jet recording device.
      SOLUTION: In the image forming method for forming the image on the base material to be printed by discharging the ink for ink jet recording from a nozzle, the surface of the base material to be printed is sized using a cationic surface sizing agent. In addition, the ink for ink jet recording contains a coloring material with an anionic group, a humectant, water and the water-soluble substance which begins the condensation polymerization reaction following the evaporation of water.
