摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method, capable of accurately discriminating the position of a blood vessel and the position of an injection needle and emphatically displaying the positions without erroneous recognition even if the injection needle is mingled in the puncture. SOLUTION: The image display device comprises an image input part for inputting frames having digital images obtained by imaging a living body at prescribed time intervals; a blood vessel position extracting part 902 for extracting the position of blood vessels in the digital images as blood vessel position information; an image memory 9045 for recording the blood vessel position information; an injection needle detecting part 903 for detecting the presence and position of the injection needle in the digital images as injection needle position information; and an emphatic image display part 904 for displaying the digital image in which the blood vessels of the living body and the injection needle are emphasized as the emphatic image based on first blood vessel position information in the present frame extracted by the blood vessel position extracting part 902, second blood vessel position information in the previous frame recorded in the image memory 9045 and the injection needle position information.
