SOLUTION: The deviation of the rotating axes of the rotor boss 2 and the mirror 3 is prevented by the expanding effect of fixing the mirror 3 by uniformly expanding the outer diameter of the rotor boss 2. Further, a gap does not exist because the rotor boss 2 is made tightly contact with the inner diameter of the mirror 3, and the variation in imbalance is reduced even when an impulsive force is applied.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest a structure in which stress is effectively absorbed at a fitting part at which a polygon mirror and a rotor boss are thermally inserted and fixed in a polygon mirror scanner motor used for a laser scanning in a laser beam printer or a laser beam copying machine. SOLUTION: A fitting margin is provided between the rotor boss 2 and a mirror 3, and the mirror 3 is expanded by heating and thermally inserted onto the rotor boss 2 and fixed. In this case, stress is generated at the fitting part 4 due to the fitting margin, and the fitting part 4 is easily elastically deformed with an annular groove 2a provided on the rotor boss 2 and an annular groove 3b provided on the mirror. Thus, an influence of the stress of the fitting part 4 to strain of the whole mirror is prevented, the strain of a mirror face 3a which affects laser scanning accuracy is effectively reduced.       SOLUTION: Since a thrust magnet 17 subjected to unipolar magnetization in the axial direction is arranged on the backside of a thrust cover 16 on the outside of a bearing, magnetic attraction takes place between the thrust magnet 17 and a rotating shaft 13 made of a magnetic material to ensure stability in the axial direction, and thereby a polygon mirror scanner motor produces stabilized rotational operation even for vibration/impact. High reliability is attained because a magnetized thrust magnet 17 is fixed to the backside of the thrust cover 16 after the bearing is assembled, and thereby no dust such as magnetic powder intrude into the bearing.

In this case, stress is generated in the fitted part 4 due to the fitting interference, but the fitting part 4 is easily elastically deformed by providing flutes 3c at the central hole part of the polygon mirror. Thus, the influence of the stress at the fitted part 4 to the strain of the whole mirror is prevented and the strain of a mirror face 3a which affects laser scanning accuracy is effectively reduced.
