    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recorder effectively utilizing a limited recording capacity, and also to provide a data recording method.
      SOLUTION: The data recorder for compressing and recording the data is equipped with a compressing section 103 having a plurality of compression systems 105-108 with different compressibility. By a CPU 112, a dead capacity of a recording medium 111 of a recording section 110 is controlled and the compression system is selected in accordance with the dead capacity of the recording medium 111 to control switches 104 and 109. The data acquired from media 102 which are inserted to a disk section 101 are compressed by the selected compression system and recorded on the recording medium 111.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress signal processing scale or circuit scale from being made large and to facilitate the handling thereof by enabling reproducing continuation from a reproducing stop position, where the reproduction of an information storage medium is interrupted. SOLUTION: Digital data read out from a data area 1a of a semiconductor memory 1 corresponding to address data from a read address generating circuit 2 are inputted to a digital signal processing circuit 3, the digital data are outputted through a D/A converter 7, and time information (what minute and what second) showing the current reproducing position is continuously written through a time information read circuit 4 and a write circuit 5 into a recording area 1b with backup function inside the semiconductor memory 1. At the starting of reproduction after reproduction is interrupted by a switch 9a, the time information (what minute and what second) recorded in the recording area 1b with backup function to show the reproduction stop position at the interrupting of reproduction is read out, this time information is sent to the read address generating circuit 2, and data are continuously reproduced from the reproduction stop position at the interrupting of reproduction inside the data area 1a.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a reproduction stop position when reproduction is interrupted due to the stop of power supply from a power source and to continue reproduction from the reproduction stop position at the time of restarting power supply from the power source. SOLUTION: Digital data read out of a data area 1a in a semiconductor memory 1 by address data generated from a reading address generating circuit 2 are inputted to a digital signal processing circuit 3 and outputted through a D/A converter 7 and time information (min/sec) indicating a reproducing position is continuously written in a recording area 1b with a backup function in the memory 1 through a time information reading circuit 4 and a writing circuit 5. When power supply is restarted after the interruption of reproduction due to the stop of power supply from the power source, the time information (min/sec) indicating the reproduction stop position at the interruption of reproduction is read out of the area 1b and data in the data area 1a are continuously reproduced from the reproduction stop position through the circuit 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display apparatus by which the time required for reaching a guidance point is estimated and which can guide a route before a predetermined prescribed time by installing a means by which the time required for reaching the guidance point is computed on the basis of a distance and an average speed. SOLUTION: The output of a direction sensor 1 and that of a distance sensor 2 are sent to a CPU 10 (a computing means) via a sensor processing part 4, and the present position of an own vehicle is computed. In addition, the CPU 10 computes an average speed on the basis of the running speed of the own vehicle, and it computes the time required for reaching a destination or a guidance point on the basis of the distance of the destination or the guidance point, on the basis of the distance of the present position and on the basis of the average speed. A voice processor 19 creates a prescribed voice message on the basis of the instruction of the CPU 10, and the voice message is outputted from a loudspeaker 20. Therefore, the time required for reaching the guidance point is estimated on the basis of the speed of the own vehicle and on the basis of the congestion state of a guidance route. When it is judged that the time is within a preset time which is required for the position of the own vehicle to reach the guidance point, an instruction is guided by a voice.
