In addition, the temperature of a source-supply-side glass substrate 1 is controlled to 200 to 300 deg.C, the inside of an airtight container 7 is filled with the vapor 4 of the complex, the vapor of the complex is decomposed on the surface of the CdS-film generation substrate 3, and a CdS film 5 is generated.

Then, a CdTe film 4 is formed to a pattern shape by a vacuum vapor deposition device. According to the thermal decomposition, a CdS thin film 2 whose adhesion property with the substrate 1, film quality uniformity and surface flatness are good can be readily acquired and a solar battery of high performance which is free from fine shortcircuiting can be realized.
