    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the conventional exposure, development, and etching process, remove materials that generate pollution, and increase productivity by forming a film-type phosphor, pressing and bonding the phosphor on the funnel section of a cathode-ray tube with the use of a heat element. CONSTITUTION:A phosphor 9 is applied to form a film with constant thicknesses on one surface of a film 8, such as paper and plastic. On the other hand, the inner surface of the funnel section 10 of a color cathode-ray tube is coated with a pretreatment coat 11. Besides, a heat element 12 that is integratedly provided with a number of protrusions 13 to be coated with the phosphor 9 is provided and the film 8 is positioned on a surface coated with the pretreatment film 11 of the funnel section 10. The heat element 12 is moved downward and is heated by applying current to a heater 14. The film 8 and the phosphor 9 are pressed by the protrusions 13 and the pretreatment coat 11 is dissolved by the heat of the protrusions 13 and then the phosphor 9 is bonded with the pretreatment coat 11 only at the protrusions 13.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a thin and compact display device by heating a cathode, emitting a thermion, accelerating a generated electron beam, and landing the final phosphor. CONSTITUTION:A number of cathode wires 2 are provided on a thin glass substrate 1. One more thin glass substrates 4 is provided on the glass substrate 1 through a spacer 3. A phosphor 5 is formed on this glass substrate 4 by a slurry machine, screen printing, gravure printing, etc. and then a lacquer coat and a metal back coat are formed on it. The coupling between the glass substrates 1 and 4 and the spacer 3 is performed using low melting glass. Furthermore, the glass substrate 1 is made to adhere to a thick glass substrate 6 using low melting glass and the whole is covered with a cup-shaped cover body 7. This cover body 7 is also made to adhere to the glass substrate 6 using low melting glass. A hole for inserting a chip tube must be provided in this cover body 7 so as to make the inner part vacuum.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance productivity and accomplish cost-down by providing a red, a green, and a blue exposure original version with respective pattern ID marks when a screen is manufactured, with which a plurality of lines can be indicated and TV image displayed, and thereby enabling ocular inspection of the position and also automatic identification. CONSTITUTION:One surface of a cleaned transparent glass plate is roughed, flushed, and coated with a thin resin film of photo-sensitive agent, and over this film a stripe forming resin film is formed which contains photo-sensitive agent. Then light exposure is made to remove resin film in areas other than exposed parts, and the carbon coated on the formed semi-transparent film is removed by etching, followed by development and drying. When exposure of fluorescent substance is made thereafter, consideration is given to the flat plate form of this screen, and a pattern identifying circle 41, a pattern identifying triangle 42, and a pattern identifying square 43 are formed, which correspond to a red, a green, and a blue fluorescent substance 36, 37, 38, respectively, on the light exposure original version 44. These circle 41, triangle 42, and square 43 enables ocular inspection of the position of fluorescent substance and also automatic identification.
