    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell allowing a fuel cell system to be downsized.
      SOLUTION: In this fuel cell, four fuel battery cells 10, a fuel feed passage to the fuel battery cells 10, and micro valves 5a and 5b regulating the supplied amount of liquid fuel passing the individual fuel introduction parts 3a and 3b of the fuel feed passage are integrated in the same substrate. The substrate comprises a holding body 16 for holding four fuel battery cells 10, a gas-liquid separating membrane 2, a fuel pole side substrate 3, and an air pole side substrate 4. The fuel battery cell 10 comprises an ionic conduction membrane 11 held by a fuel pole 12 and an air pole 13. The mixed fluid of methanol and water is fed to the fuel pole 12 and air is fed to the air pole 13 through the permeable holes 4a in the air pole side substrate 4. Carbon dioxide produced at the fuel poles 12 of the fuel battery cells 10 is discharged to the outside through the air-liquid separating membrane 2 and discharge holes 31 in the fuel pole side substrate 3.

      SOLUTION: The generator is provided with a burner 2 in which a catalyst for burning the fuel passing through a fuel channel 2a is arranged in the fuel channel 2a, and a power generation unit 1 formed of a thermoelectric module generating power with the burner 2 as a heating source. The burner 2 is composed of a first thermally conductive substrate 11 constituting a part of the power generation unit 1, and of a thermally insulating substrate 21 laminated on the first thermally conductive substrate 11. The fuel channel 2a is formed by forming a groove 5 on a confronted face with the thermally insulating substrate 21 in the first thermally conductive substrate 11. In the burner 2, a micro heater 8 constituting an energy source that can give heat energy to the fuel in the fuel channel 2a is disposed in a part corresponding to the groove 5 of the first thermally conductive substrate 11.

      SOLUTION: A portable thermoelectric generator comprises a thermoelectric material and electrodes for sandwiching the material between an upper cover and a lower cover. A thermoelectric module 1 is formed of the material and the electrodes, a catalyst 2 is arranged on an upper part of the module 1 and a heat sink 7 is arranged on a lower part. The sink 7 is brought into contact with the lower cover. Liquid fuel is vaporized by the heat from the sink 7, and the sink 7 is simultaneously thus cooled. A low temperature side of the thermoelectric material is cooled by the heat of vaporization of the liquid fuel, the vaporized is brought into catalytic combustion fuel on a high-temperature side surface of the material to supplementarily charge the portable equipment from the material. The equipment can be warmed by the heat from the catalytic combustion.
