    • PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a measurement operation of water permeability and the accuracy of said measurement by measuring a water supply rate and measurement time while supplying water to a measuring hole until the detected water level in the measuring hole attains a nearly specified level. CONSTITUTION:After a prescribed volume of water is supplied into the measuring hole 1, a float 2 is floated in the water to maintain an oscillating arm 3 in an approximately horizontal state. The water is then penetrated into a granular structure F. A pump 9 operates at this time and when a roller 9a passes a photoelectric sensor 12, an H level signal is outputted from the sensor 12 to a controller 13 via an amplifier 8. The number of passes of the roller 9a is recorded together with the lapse of the time on the chart paper of a pen recorder 14 fed at a constant speed by the above-mentioned signal. Since the number of the passes thereof is proportional to the water supply rate of the pump, the water supply rate to the hole 1 is detected from said number of the passes in correspondence to the measurement time. The volume of the water penetrating in the structure F is correspondingly detected and the permeation coefft. is calculated.

    • PURPOSE:To greatly improve the efficiency of a measurement operation by detecting the weight change of a weight member by a buoyancy change and determining the level change quantity of a water level, then detecting a water permeation coefft. automatically. CONSTITUTION:A timer counts measurement time and a prescribed routine is executed when a switch for starting the measurement is turned on. Namely, the weight W1 of the weight member 2 detected by a balance 4 is read simultaneously with the start of the measurement time. Whether the counted measurement time elapses by the prescribed time or not is decided and the operation is progressed to the ensuing stage in the case of YES. The weight W2 of the weight member 2 at every prescribed time from the start of the measurement is read. The level change quantity of the water level is then computed from the detected weights W1, W2. The water level in a measuring hole 1 penetrates by the prescribed quantity in a granular structure upon lapse of the prescribed time and, therefore, the water level falls and the member 2 is correspondingly exposed from the water surface. The volume of the member 2 existing in the water is correspondingly decreased. The level change quantity of the water level is determined from such weight change, by which the water permeation coefft. is automatically obtd.
