摘要： PURPOSE: To directly hydrate an olefin under mild conditions of a low temperature and a low pressure using a solid heterogeneous catalyst and thermally stably obtain alcohol by reacting the olefin with water in the presence of an organic polymeric siloxane containing sulfonic acid. CONSTITUTION: An olefin such as ethylene or propylene is reacted with water in the presence of an organic polymeric siloxane, having a sulfonic acid group such as an aromatic sulfonic acid or an alkylsulfonic acid group and further preferably carrying out the coating and/or silylating treatments of the siloxane with a silane compound of the formula (R)n SiX4-n [R is a 1-4C aliphatic hydrocarbon or a 6-15C aromatic hydrocarbon; X is an alkoxy, Cl, Br or I; Si is silicon; (n) is 0-3] to afford the objective alcohols.

CONSTITUTION: An olefin (preferably ethylene, propylene) is catalytically hydrated into an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst, which is produced by exchanging a part of the protons of a heteropoly-acid (e.g., H3 PW12 O40 , H3 PMo12 O40 , H4 SiO12 O40 ) with (i) one or more cations selected from alkali metal cations and (ii) one or more cations selected from a titanium metal cation, a zirconium metal cation and a tin metal ion, dispersing the partially neutralized heteropoly- acid in (iii) a silica gel comprising the hydrolyzation product of a silicon alkoxide, and further coating the dispersion with a silicone.

摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain alcohols at a high efficiency in liquid phase by catalytically hydrating an olefin using a heteropoly-acid as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: An olefin which is an aliphatic hydrocarbon compound having at least one or more carbon-carbon double bonds (e.g. ethylene or propylene) is catalytically hydrated by using a heteropoly-acid dispersed in an organic polymeric siloxane having a hydrocarbon group as a catalyst under conditions of water present in a liquid state at 0-500 deg.C under 0.5-500atm to afford alcohols. The stable catalyst having high activities without elimination and decomposition of acidic substances by the thermal decomposition of the catalyst which are disadvantages of a conventional solid heterogenous catalyst is obtained by using the heteropoly-acid as the catalyst and the deterioration in the activities of the catalyst due to the presence of water in the reactional system is further suppressed. The alcohols can be produced by directly hydrating the olefin even under low-temperature and low-pressure conditions according to this method. In addition, there is no fear of corroding reactional apparatuses, etc.
