    • PURPOSE:To enable to perform reliable profiling machining operation, by a method wherein a griding cutter is cynchronizingly elevated through a profiling roller depending on the flatness of a material to be machined. CONSTITUTION:A spindle 7, provided at its lower end with a grinding cutter 6 for machining a beveling part for edge preparation, is elevatably attached to a machining device body 3, and is provided at the upper end of the spindle 7 with a holding tool 8, which rotatably holds the level position of the spindle 7. Meanwhile, a profiling shaft 12, provided at its lower part with a profiling roller 9, is located in parallel to the spindle 7, and energization is effected so that the profiling shaft 12 is pressed against the upper surface of a material 2 to be machined by means of an air cylinder 13, located in the middle of the profiling shaft, with the aid of the machining device body 3. This enables to perform edge-preparing operation depending upon flatness of the material 2 to be machined, and pressing of the material 2 to be machined enables prevention of production of vibration during machining.

    • PURPOSE:To automate working of stepped part of a narrow width part, by setting a work route with its development with the stepped part of a narrow width work face being subjected to plane development, finding a cutter locus with the cutter edge distance of a flat end mill being offset input to this work route, and automatic-working the stepped part of the narrow width part with the cutter locus being output to a mill driving device. CONSTITUTION:In the case of working the stepped part by a flat end mill 22 on the narrow width work face of the product 14 to be worked, the work route is set with its development by inputting a step difference origin 20n/ terminal coordinate/step difference distance with the plane development of the step difference part, after fetching the plane data of a narrow width work face into a computer arithmetic part and outputting the plane shape to an output device. Then a cutter locus is found with the offset input of the cutter edge distance of the flat end mill 22 to this work route and the step difference part of the narrow width part is subjected to automatic working with the cutter locus being output to a mill driving device. Consequently the specified stepped part can be subjected to machining automatically to the narrow width part of a die bearing part 14, etc.
