    • PURPOSE:To enable a sponge with an arbitrarily cross-sectional shape to be manufactured in a simple operation that has a fine sponge skin and small uniform foamed cells and also has good shape retainability during the foaming period by vulcanizing and foaming in use of a vulcanizing can unvulcanized compounded rubber containing a vulcanizing agent and foaming agent that are put into a mold. CONSTITUTION:Sponge forming unvulcanized compounded rubber is made such that, e.g. raw material rubber, filling agent, softening agent, age resistor, etc., are kneaded at a temperature of 80-170 deg.C for 3-10min. by the use of a kneading machine such as Bandury mixer or the like. In use of rollers such as open rollers, a vulcanizing agent and foaming agent, by additionally blending 3 vulcanizing accelerator, vulcanizing assistant or foaming assistant thereto as required, are kneaded at a temperature 30-80 deg.C for 5-30min., and then discharged in separation for making unvulcanizing compounded rubber being in a shape of ribbon or sheet. By vulcanizing and foaming the unvulcanized compounded rubber made in this manner with inmold vulcanizing can vulcanizing method in use of vulcanizing can, a vulcanized rubber sponge is manufactured.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber belt having excellent thermal ageing resistance and small variation in its elasticity by forming it of a molded piece vulcanized from chlorinated ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer rubber having specific chlorine content and Mooney viscosity. CONSTITUTION:A rubber hose formed of a molded piece vulcanized from chlorinated ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer rubber having 20-40wt.% of chlorine content and 10-190 of Mooney viscosity (ML1+4(121 deg.C)) is provided. As a method of vulcanizing the hose, triazine vulcanization, organic peroxide vulcanization, etc. are effective. A vulcanizer is mixed at the ratio of 1X10 -2.5X10 mold per 100g of the copolymer rubber. If the mixing amount of the vulcanizer is less than the above range, the vulcanized material having preferable rubber elasticity cannot be obtained, while if it is larger than the above range, its elongation is reduced. The using amount of the organic peroxide is selected normally to 3X10 -5X10 moles per 100 pts.wt. of the copolymer rubber. Since the molded piece vulcanized from the copolymer rubber is employed, the hose having excellent thermal ageing resistance, and small variation in its elasticity from low to high temperatures can be obtained.
