    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gloss, ink absorbency, water resistance, print density, resistance to cracking and water-vapor resistance in an ink-jet recording sheet.
      SOLUTION: In an aqueous emulsion for the ink-jet recording sheet, in which a (co)polymer having at least one monomer selected from the monomers having an unsaturated double bond as a constitutional unit is employed as dispersoid and polyvinyl alcohol is employed as a dispersed stabilizer, the (co)polymer includes ≥0.5 meq/g of a hydroxyl group, the degree of saponification of polyvinyl alcohol is 80-95 mol% and the terminal of a polyvinyl alcohol molecule has a hydrophobic group and the mean particle diameter of the emulsion is 10-100 nm. In addition, the ink accepting layer of the ink-jet recording sheet includes the water emulsion and a water-soluble cationic polymer.
