SOLUTION: This polyester resin comprises (A) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising 80 to 100 mole % aromatic dicarboxylic acid (a1 ) and 20 to 0 mole % dicarboxylic acid (a2 ) other than an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (B) an alcohol component comprising 0.5 to 20 mole % diol (b1 ) which contains, as a main component, a compound of formula I, wherein R is an alkylene group having fourteen or more carbon atoms, 1 to 50 mole % 1, 4- cyclohexanedimethanol (b2 ), 20 to 80 mole % diol (b3 ) which contains, as a main component, a compound of formula II, wherein each of R and R is an alkyl group having a carbon number of x or y, respectively, each of x and y being an integer of 6 or less, and, x and y satisfy the requirement of formula III wherein each of r1 , r2 ... rn represents a mole fraction of each monomer, 10 to 78.5 mole % another diol (b4 ), and 0 to 10 mole % polyhydric alcohol having three or more hydroxyl, groups (b5 ), and has a number average molecular weight of 5, 000 to 50,000.

Resins A and D are each a copolyester resin produced from a dicarboxylic acid component contg. terephthalic and/or isophthalic acid as the main ingredient, at least one tribasic or higher carboxylic acid component and/or at least one trihydric or higher alcohol component in an amt. of 0-30mol% of the total dicarboxylic acid component, etc. The softening point of resin D is 90-160 deg.C, and the difference in softening points between resins A and D is within 60 deg.C.

SOLUTION: This resin comprises (a) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising terephthalic acid an/or isophthalic acid as the main component, (b) 0.1 to 1.2 molar %, based on the whole dicarboxylic acid components, of at least one monobasic carboxylic acid component and/or monohydric alcohol component, (c) 20 to 100 molar %, based on the whole acid components, of an aliphatic diol component, and (b) another diol component. Thus resin has a glass transition temp. of 45 to 70 deg.C, a softening temp. of 90 to 130 deg.C, a wt.-average mol.wt. (Mw) of 3,000 to 30,000, a no.-average mol.wt. (Mw) of 1,500 to 14,000, and a negative charge of 3μC/g or below when it is in the from of fine particles having a nol.-average particle diameter of 5 to 15μm.
