    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an N-methylol acrylamide crystal, especially the N-methylol acrylamide crystal substantially free from formaldehyde smell and having little caking properties.
      SOLUTION: The N-MAA (N-methylol acrylamide) crystal having little caking properties is obtained by subjecting a crystalline N-MAA to exposing treatment to an atmosphere containing an acidic gas or a basic gas. The crystalline N-MAA having substantially free from the aldehyde-like smell is held and stored in the atmosphere containing the acidic gas or the basic gas. As a result, the formaldehyde-like smell of the N-MAA crystal is removed, and the caking properties under long-term preservation are reduced to hygienically improve the working environment in a using scene, and to simplify the operation process.
