    • PURPOSE: To provide an Fe base sintered alloy having excellent anti-wear property and self-lubricity, obtained by uniformly dispersing a specific area ratio of free qraphite and CaF
      2 in a steel base material containing C, Si, Cr, P or/and B, CaF
      2 respectively in a predetermined ratio.
      CONSTITUTION: An Fe base sintered alloy contains, on the basis of wt% 2W8% C, 0.1W5% Si, 4W30% Cr, 0.02W5% P or/and B, 0.05W5% CaF
      2 and comprises the ramainder Fe and inevitable impurities. In this case, 2W30% in an area ratio of graphite and CaF
      2 are uniformly dispersed in said alloy base material. Because this Fe base sintered alloy has the above aforementioned characteristics, effect as mentioned hereinbelow is developed when said alloy used in praparing the movable valve mechanism member of an internal combustion engine especially applied with high surface pressure and poor in a lubricating state at the start of operation. That is, excellent capacity is stably developed over the extremely long period of time without damaging an opposed member.

    • PURPOSE: To simplify manufacturing processes for a sintered composite oil-containing bearing consisting of a Cu-based sintered material and a Fe-based sintered material by a method in which specific components are added to the Fe-based sintered material and the Fe-based sintered material and the Cu-based sintered material are concurrently sintered at a temperature suitable for the Cu-based sintered material.
      CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of a sintered composite oil-containing bearing whose inner layer is composed of a Cu-based sintered material and the outer layer is composed of a Fe-based sintered material, one or more of 0.01 to 1.0%B, 0.02 to 3%P, and 0.5 to 10%Sn are added to the Fe-based sintered material. And, the Fe- based sintered material thus prepared and the Cu-based sintered material are molded together or separately, and they are concurrently sintered together in combination at a temperature (700 to 900°C) suitable for sintering the Cu-based sintered material. Thus, a sintered composite oil-containing bearing can be economically manufactured by one-time sintering operation without the needs for separate sintering operations.
