摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the electromagnetic wave-shielding property of a metal- coated grass fiber by preliminarily coating the surface of a glass fiber with a resin, and subsequently coating the pre-coated glass fiber with a specific metal by an electroless plating method or by a vacuum deposition method. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber product such as a glass fiber woven fabric is immersed in a resin coating selected from the coatings of an acrylic resin, an epoxy resin, an urethane resin and a phenolic resin, squeezed in a suitable amount and respectively dried to provide a resin-coated glass fiber product. The glass fiber product is defatted, immersed in a SnCl2 hydrochloric acid aqueous solution having a prescribed concentration to catalytically activate the glass fiber product. The treated glass fiber product is immersed in an electroless plating solution containing a metal salt, a complexing agent and a reducing agent for depositing one or more of metals such as Au, Pd, Ag, Cu, Ni and Al thereon to provide a metal-coated glass fiber product having a good electromagnetic wave-shielding property. In the case of the Al, a vacuum deposition method can be utilized.
