    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which welding is automatically performed by preventing interference and separation of a shield nozzle and a workpiece even when it is the workpiece the joint angle of which is varied.
      SOLUTION: This method includes: a step (S105) where the reference orbit information of a welding torch is generated on the basis of the design data of the workpiece; a step (S107) where the amount of deviation in position of the welding torch to the workpiece mounted actually in the welding position is acquired by touch sensing to the workpiece; a step (S109) where actual orbit information is manufactured by correcting the reference orbit information on the basis of the amount of deviation in position of the welding torch; and a step (S111) where welding is performed by controlling the orbit of the welding torch on the basis of the actual orbit information. The welding is performed while bringing the shield nozzle into contact with a fillet weld joint part, the reference orbit information is generated as the welding is performed while bringing the shield nozzle into contact with the workpiece and the amount of the deviation of the welding torch is acquired by bringing the shield nozzle into contact with the workpiece.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a flexible and smooth friction stir joining when base metals are subjected to the friction stir joining using a bobbin tool by controlling heat inputs on both the surface and back sides in the joints of the base metals.
      SOLUTION: In the friction stir joining, frictional heat is inputted to the respective joints of base metals from the surface side and the back side with them held, and, by the plastic flow of the joints, joining is performed. In this case, the joining is performed so that the frictional heat inputted to the joint close to the surface side and the frictional heat inputted to the joint close to the back side are independently controlled. For independently controlling the frictional heat inputs to the joints close to a back pressure member 10A and to a surface pressure member 10B, the pressure to the joining face close to the back pressure member and the pressure to the joining face close to the surface pressure member are allowed to independently be controlled, or the rotational speed of the back pressure member and the rotational speed close to the surface pressure member are allowed to independently be controlled, or at least one of the back pressure member and the surface pressure member is provided with a heater or a cooling mechanism.
