For the purpose of forming the alloy layer on the ontact surface to be abraded, the composite material mainly consisting of Fe-Cr is applied to the specified part like as the contact surface, etc., of the round steel bar and the cavity of the casting mold consisting of the green sand mold, the self-hardening castig sand, etc.; and after drying the casting mold, the molten metal is poured into the casting mold. Hereby, the molten metal melts the applied composite material, and the alloy layer mainly consisting of the chromium carbide is formed at the specified part.

The powder mixture is subjected to press molding, vacuum sintering, hardening and further deposition hardening, by which the sintered body is obtd. The sintered body has high green density and sintering density.

The powders are so blended that the final compsn. thereof has the martensite type deposition hardening structure consisting of ≤0.10% C, ≤1.2% Si, ≤0.4% Mn, 14W17% Cr, 3.5W7.5% Ni, 1.5W5.0% Cu and the balance Fe. Such powder mixture is subjected to press molding, vacuum sintering, hardening and further deposition hardening by which the sintered body is formed. The sintered body having the uniform quality and high density is provided by the effective solid-phase diffusion of the pulverous SUS410L powder and the liquid-phase effect of the electrolytic copper powder if such mixed stainless steel powder is used.
