摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a mold which is higher in stability at high temp. as compared to the case when a binder is used alone by mixing the mixture of PP and PE as said binder with molding sand at above melting temp., to coat the molding sand with said mixture then pressure-filling the sand into a pattern followed by cooling. CONSTITUTION:20-80pts.wt. PP of 10-150 melt flow index (MFI) of a polymer and 80-20pts.wt. PE of 8-80 MFI are mixed. Next, the mixture of PP and PE is mixed with molding sand having been heated to a temp. higher by about 10- 70 deg.C than the melting temp. of said mixture, whereby the molding sand is coated with the above-described mixed resins. In this case the amount of the resins for 100pts.wt. the molding sand is preferably 0.3-10pts.wt. Next, the molding sand having been subjected to this coating treatment is force-fed into the hollow part of a pattern in conventional method, after which the pattern is cooled, whereby the intended mold is manufactured.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve covering characteristic and fluidity for molding sand and improve mold strength by making combination use of specific polypropylene or polyethylene resin and wax as a binder. CONSTITUTION:90-40pts.wt. polypropylene resin of 10-150 melt flow indexes and/or polyethylene resin of 8-80 melt indexes and 10-60pts.wt. wax of paraffin or olefin base are kneaded with molding sand at above the melting temp. of the resin. After this is pressure-filled in a pattern, it is cooled down to the softening temp. or under of the resin. The covering characteristic and fluidity for the molding sand in a relatively low temp. range is improved by this process. This method is advantageous for the manufacture of intricate and thin-walled molds of a long flowing distance.

Thus apparent MW is increased, rate of bleeding is reduced and voltility is eliminated because the component B forms a gelatinous material together with part of the component C in the resin, and blooming is inhibited because the remaining component C which does not form any gelatinous materials bleeds out in preferance to the component B.
