    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surely perform a butt welding of pipe by which anyone can easily set a balloon to a position away from a weld zone without being damaged, and the balloon can be made in close contact with the pipe over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The method of butt-welding pipes by using a water soluble balloon comprises: a step S1 in which, after storing in a shrunken balloon through an introducing cylinder a volatile material that gasifies by volatilization or sublimation, the introducing cylinder is blocked, with the material sealed therein; a step S2 in which the balloon with the volatile material stored is pushed into a pipe and set at a position away from a joining end; a step S3 in which the balloon is expanded with the gas generated by the volatilization of the volatile material and closely stuck to the pipe; a step S4 in which the joining ends of the pipes are abutted on each other, with the inside space substituted with an inert gas; a step S5 for welding the butted part of both pipes; and a step S6 in which the balloon is dissolved by supplying a fluid into the pipes.       SOLUTION: The method of butt-welding pipe by using a water soluble balloon comprises: a step (S1) of pushing a shrunken balloon into a pipe and setting it at a position away from a joining end; a step (S2) of taking out the tip end of an introducing cylinder outside the pipe; a step (S3) of expanding the balloon body to be made in close contact with the pipe; a step (S4) of blocking the tip end of the introducing cylinder and then pushing it between the expanded balloon body and the pipe; a step (S5) of abutting the joining ends of the pipes on each other and substituting the inner space with an inert gas; a step (S6) of welding the butted part of both pipes; and a flushing step (S7) of supplying a fluid into the pipes and dissolving the balloon.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform a butt welding of pipe by being hardly affected by heat or moisture inside pipe during welding and by maintaining an inert gas atmosphere in a weld zone circumference over a long period of time.
      SOLUTION: The method of butt-welding pipe by using a water soluble balloon comprises: a step (S1) in which a plurality of expanded balloons are set in respective pipes in a manner closely adhered to the inner face; a step (S2) in which joining ends of pipes are abutted on each other, with the inner space substituted with an inert gas environment; a step (S3) of welding the butted part of the pipes; and a step (S4) of melting the plurality of balloons by supplying fluid into the pipes. In the step of setting the balloons, those situated on the joining end side among the plurality of balloons are set to be made away from the joining ends by a predetermined value or over and outside a region deviated from a high temperature region during the welding.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively manufacture a balloon and to obtain a high gas sealability over a long period of time.
      SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the balloon, that seals the inside of the pipe in order to substitute the inner space of a weld zone circumference with an environment of inert gas circumference when a pipe is butt-welded, comprises: a step (S10) in which a sheet body composed of a water soluble material is formed into a cylinder by rolling so that the ends are overlapped, with the overlapped ends are welded to each other; a step (S11) in which one end of the sheet body is fused to be completely blocked; and a third welding step (S12) for manufacturing the balloon for pipe welding, in which the other end of the sheet body is fused with a part open and in which the fusing is performed in such a manner that an introducing cylinder with an open tip end is integrally connected to the partly opened portion of the sheet body. After the balloon for pipe welding is expanded by introducing a gas thereinto by the introducing cylinder, it can be blocked by fusing, in the method of manufacturing the balloon for pipe welding.
