Then, two range sensor detects a range by detecting a reflection ultrasonic wave, and when there is a difference between measured ranges, change in width is measured.

Then the drive shaft 5 moving downward into the water tank 42 is clamped by a clamping device provided on the traveling car 27, and the drive shaft 5 is cut off by the electrical discharge machining by a working electrode. Thus the drive shaft can be cut off remotely without producing burrs at the cut section for easier installation of a reactor water level gauge.
