CONSTITUTION:Electric discharge working fluid is formed by consisting of low viscosity oil (mineral oil or synthetic oil) of 1.0 to 3.0mm /s kinetic viscosity at 40 deg.c and terpene resin and/or petroleum resin of 400 to 1200 number average molecular weight of solid at 40 deg.C and containing 0.5 to 20wt.% resin component.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve machining speed and surface texture and reduce electrode wear by adding at least one kind of a mineral oil or a high polymer compound having a viscosity higher than a specified value and a non-ion surface-active agent to a mineral oil having a viscosity lower than the specified value to use the mixture as a dielectric fluid for electrical discharge machining. CONSTITUTION:A mineral oil of a viscosity range of ISO VG 100 to 1500 is added to a basic oil of a mineral oil of viscosities 4.0 cst (40 deg.C) or less. Also, a non-ion surface-active agent such as polyoxiethylene alkylphenol ether is added to the above fluid to make a fluid for electrical discharge machining. This improves cooling characteristic of the fluid and greatly improves machining efficiency, electrode durability and machined surface texture within a finishing area.

摘要： PURPOSE:To increase machining speed as well as to lessen electrode consumption by letting electric discharge machining fluid consist of base oil composed of low viscous mineral oil whose viscosity is several centi-stokes at 40 deg.C, and of additional oil composed of high viscous mineral oil whose viscosity is not less than 80 centi-stores at 40 deg.C where the additional oil is to be added to the base oil within a range of several % up to 30% by weight. CONSTITUTION:Electric discharge machining fluid consists of base oil composed of low viscous mineral oil whose viscosity is several centi-stokes at 40 deg.C, and of the compound other than mineral oil which is to be added to the base oil within a range of several % up to 30% by weight. Furthermore, the electric discharge machining fluid possesses the property of its characteristic temperature of more than 450 deg.C which is proved by the cooling performance test based on JIS-K2242. By this constitution, the occurrence of an abnormal arc phenomenon is lessened, and moreover, basic performance required by electric discharge machining can be enhanced.
