An end part side to be connected to the connection pipe 23 in the communication pipe 22 is obliquely formed so as to be away from the floor brush 1 when the communication pipe 22 is horizontal to the floor surface 10 and the turning surface A of the connection part of the communication pipe 22 and the connection pipe 23 is formed obliquely to the floor surface 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner in which current feed to the electric component of a suction tool for floor can be made certainly even if an extension hose is expanded or contracted, by forming the extension hose from a major diametric pipe and a minor diametric pipe which are fitted to each other with possibility of mutual sliding, furnishing a current feeding conductor at the periphery of the major pipe, and furnishing a current feeder at the periphery of the minor pipe. SOLUTION: An extension hose is composed of a major diametric pipe 12 and a minor diametric pipe 13, which are fitted to each other with possibility of mutual sliding. If the operating part 14 is pushed to vary the length of this extension hose, a resilient stopper piece of a stopping tool 17 spreads to cause slipping-off from detaining recess furnished at the peripheral surface of the major diametric pipe 12. With this condition held, the minor pipe 13 is drawn out of the major 12 for a certain length, and the push on the operating part 14 is ceased, and now the stopper piece will be fitted in the mating recess, and the extension hose itself is fixed with this length. At this time, the current feeder 34 of the minor pipe 13 forms an electric circuit at all times because a cylinder 35 moves within the cover 26 of the major pipe 12 and a terminal plate 38 slides on a current feeding conductor 22 with their contacted condition maintained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent intrusion of dirt and dust onto a detector and spring side without making any influence on effect of a floor surface sensor, by dividing a contactor side of a floor surface detector installed in a floor brush from the detector and spring side by means of a sheet of elastic material. CONSTITUTION:A central part of a sheet 26 which is cup-shaped in the cross section and made of an elastic material such as rubber and polyvinyl chloride is fixed between a first movable member 21a and a second movable member 21b, and its outer flange part is fixed airtightly between a lower case 11 and a middle case 13. A spring 24 is interposed between a spring seat 25 attached to the second movable member 21b and an upper case 18, so as to press a floor surface sensor 20, hence, a contactor 23 downward. A lower part of the lower case 11 and a part above it (an upper part of the lower case 11, an inner case 13 and the upper case 18) are divided by a deformable sheet 26 made of an elastic material. Further, as the spring 24 is arranged within the upper case 18, a detector 15 and spring side can be protected from intrusion of dirt and dust without making any influence on the effect of the floor surface sensor 20.
