SOLUTION: A signal generating device 1 is connected with a power line 3 in an arbitrary system in a distribution board 7 of an electric chamber, and the connection is defined as C. Also, a detecting device 4 is connected with either a connection candidate (a) point or (b) point or both points with the power line 3 installed in the neighborhood of an equipment by using a coupler 6. Then, a signal for test is detected by this coupler 6, and when the detected detection signal is more than prelimiarily decided signal intensity, the detecting device 4 displays the possibility of signal transmission. Thus, at the time of setting an equipment using power line carriage, the inspection of the power line installation situation can be surely and easily retrieved without reconstructing a drawing or the like. Moreover, non-contact retrieval can be attained without directly connecting a meter or the like with the power line to which a power source is impressed, and danger such as electric shock can be avoided.
