    • PURPOSE:To enhance vibration-proofness as well as to make a device small in size and light in weight by applying load to a space between long side sections with the deformation of frame short side sections restrained, stretching color selection electrodes so as to be welded with each support piece compressed, and thereby imparting required tension to the electrodes with load and restraint removed. CONSTITUTION:The lateral and vertical movement of a frame body is restrained with frame short side sections 16a and 16b fixed by restraining jigs 21 and 22. Next, load (f) is applied to a space between frame long side sections 13a and 13b, so that each support side 12a and 12b made of spring material and each long side section 13a and 13b are deformed by a specified amount. Color selection electrodes composed of a great number of fine string elements 14 are stretched so as to be mounted across the space between the long side sections 13a and 13b, so that they are welded so as to be fixed. And when the load (f) is then removed, required tension is imparted to the color section electrodes by means of the restoring force of both the long side sections and support pieces. By this constitution, tension is prevented from being lowered due to the deformation of the frame body, so that required tension can easily be provided, and resonance due to external vibration is concurrently restrained, so that a device can also be made small in size and light in weight.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the vibration resistance and provide a high-precision screen by using a spring material for the frame of a color selecting electrode device, and locating the sides of the frame nearly in one plane. CONSTITUTION:Frame bodies 21a, 21b faced to each other are made of a spring material and have a U-shaped cross section. Support sides 22a, 22b made of a spring material are provided on the frame bodies 21a, 21b. The frame of a color selecting electrode device 7 is constituted of the frame bodies 21a, 21b and the support sides 22a, 22b, the sides of the frame are located nearly in one plane, and many color selecting electrodes 11 made of a metal fine stripe are stretched and arranged on the front faces of the frame bodies 21a, 21b. The frame of the color selecting electrode device 7 is made of a spring material, the sides of the frame are located nearly in one plane, a load is applied to the long side section of the frame at three or more pressure points, the color selecting electrodes 11 are deposited and fixed, then the load is removed, thus the tension with uniform distribution can be applied to the color selecting electrodes 11, and the resonance of the color selecting electrodes 11 caused by the vibration from the outside can be suppressed.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the blackning heat treatment, to suppress the lowering of the tension on electrodes, and to improve the vibration resistance so as to obtain precise pictures, by using hardly stainable materials such as stainless materials for color selecting electrodes, frames and supporting pieces. CONSTITUTION:A load is applied between frames 10a, 10b made of corrosion resistance materials bending supporting pieces 10c, 10d consisting of corrosion resistance spring materials by a specified amount in the elastic region, and color selecting electrodes 11 made of the above materials are strung between the frames, and the load is removed after welding and fixing the electrodes 11 to the frames respectively. The compression of the frames is removed and tensions of specified distribution are applied to the electrodes 11 respectively by the restoring force of the spring members. By using hardly stainable materials such as stainless materials foe a color selecting electrode assembly 7 the generation of stains can be prevented to eliminate the blackning heat treatment, a stain preventing process, and the manufacture can be simplified, and the lowering of the tension can be suppressed to obtain sharp pictures of high precision in color cathode-ray tube operations.
