The acceleration detector is provided with a switch which is opened and closed due to the movement of the mass body to be moved along the sliding shaft against the elastic member when the acceleration detector is subjected to an acceleration in a direction opposite to the prescribed direction. The main mass member 104 which constitutes the mass body is manufactured by a cold forging operation.
