    • PURPOSE:To enable the machining device to perform machining operations regardless of the length of the focal distance of a paraboloidal shape by installing an inching rotary table rotating at a specified angle of rotation to a Y axis control table, and providing a sample holder fixing its one end on the inching rotary table and holding a work on the other end. CONSTITUTION:An inching rotary table rotating around its central axis at a specified angle is installed on a Y axis control table 6b of a two-axes control table 6, and one end of a sample holder 8 is fixed on the table 7 and the other end of it holds a work 2. A spindle 1 to which a cutting tool is attached is arranged near the two-axes control table so that the rotary shaft is at right angles to X direction of a X axis control table 6a and Y direction of the Y axis control table 6b, thus a paraboloidal shape is formed by the rotation of the table 7. Thus, the focal distance of the paraboloidal shape formed on the work 2 can be set in accordance with the distance from the center of rotation of the table 7 to the position of the work 2 simply by changing the length of the end side of the sample holder 8 holding the work 2.

    • PURPOSE:To form a high-precise shape without needing primary reference surface, by a method wherein a premaching surface shape is measured, and a cutting amount is corrected according to a surface shape serving as an absolute precision reference. CONSTITUTION:A non-contact displacement gauge 3 is situated ahead, in an advancing direction, of a tool 1, and a distance between a premachining surface 5a right before machining and a tool rest 4 is determined. In which case, the tool rest 4 is moved in a direction X at a specified speed V, and the tool 1 is situated in a position of X=Vt at a time (t). In machining, a premachining surface is previously determined by a shape measuring device, and by controlling a fine cut device 2 so as to satisfy a formula of U(t)=S(t)+f(Vt+d)-Z0(x), wherein f(x) is a premachining surface, U(t) is a cutting amount, S(t) is an output of the displacement gauge 3, and Z0(x) is a desired machining shape, a desired finish surface can be formed even if an error is produced in a cutting direction. Since an absolute reference is set according to a premachining surface, this method eliminates the need for a primary reference surface and enables formation of a high-precise shape.
