SOLUTION: A rare earth-containing chloride, which makes a wavelength upward conversion light L1 from an excitation light source 1 and can emit the light L1 as a plurality of kinds of peak wavelengths of lights, is used as a laser active medium 2. A filter 4a, which transmits selectively the specified one peak wavelength of the light only from among the plurality of kinds of the peak wavelengths of these lights, is arranged on an optical path between the medium 2 and the optical oscillator mirror on one side of optical oscillator mirrors 3a and 3b, and the specified one peak wavelength of the light L2 is selected and a laser oscillation is made to take place for outputting. It is preferable to use a filter unit 6 of a structure, wherein filters are prepared by the number of lights of peak wavelengths to be selected and only one of the filters can be arranged in a freely exchangeable state on the optical path from among these filters.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for light wavelength conversion which make it possible to manufacture an all-solid ultraviolet laser oscillator which stably attains high conversion efficiency and is practical by using nonlinear optical crystal, e.g. single-crystal lithium tetraborate LB4. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with a green laser oscillator 10 which oscillates coherent light of 532 nm in wavelength and single-crystal lithium tetraborate LB4 (hereinafter LB4) crystal box 23 where the light from the green laser oscillator 10 is made incident as the incident light. In an LB4 crystal box 23, LB4 which converts the incident light and emits projection light of 266 nm is arranged satisfying a phase matching angle and a heating device which heats and holds this LB4 crystal at 200 to 600 deg.C is incorporated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an up conversion laser which is easily operated even in the atmosphere by providing a structure where the transmission face of a phosphor of a hygroscopic chloride crystal or chloride glass is sandwiched between transparent boards in parallel. SOLUTION: A structure where the transparent face of the phosphor of hygroscopic chloride crystal or chloride glass is sandwiched between the transparent boards 2 and 3 in parallel is provided. Then, liquid 5 having a refraction factor between the refraction factor of the phosphor 1 and the refraction factor of the transparent boards 2 and 3 is provided between the phosphor 1 and the transparent boards 2 and 3. The outer peripheries of the phosphor 1, the transparent boards 2 and 3 and the other transparent boards are coated with a glass material. The whole glass material 4 is fixed with resin in a state where liquid 5 is provided between the boards by removing a part covered with the transparent boards 2 and 3 or the whole is stored in a holder so as to fix it. Thus, the up conversion laser which is easily handled even in the atmosphere can be obtained.
