    • PURPOSE:To enable the ball screw and split ball nut of a driving shaft to properly engage each other by providing an absolute position detector for the driving shaft, and an absolute angle detector and a synchronous position setter for a rotor. CONSTITUTION:The absolute position detector 12 which detects the absolute position of the driving shaft 3 and the absolute angle detector 13 which detects the angle of rotation of the rotor 21 are connected to the synchronous position setter 30. The setter 30 is connected to the rotor 21 of a synchronous motor through a motor controller 31. The detector 12 detects how much the driving shaft 3 moves from a reference position and the detector 13 detects the current azimuth of the rotor 21. Then the setter 30 sets the angle of rotation of the ball nut up to the synchronous position according to the signals from the detectors 12 and 13 and supplies a command to the controller 31 to rotate the rotor, thereby determining the azimuth of the ball nut. In this state, an electromagnet is magnetized and the split ball nut and ball screw properly engage each other.

    • PURPOSE:To surely suppress the core reactivity of a fast breeder reactor. CONSTITUTION:A pin 15 of an extension link mechanism 10 joints with a cum groove 14 provided on a cum unit 9 and the cam unit 9 is moved up and down by the thermal expansion difference between a temperature sensing cylinder 7 and a low thermal expansion rod 8, and thus the length of the extension link mechanism 10 is varied. A thermal resister 16 made of such steel as Inconel 625 and the like having small heat conductance is placed in the inner periphery of the temperature sensing cylinder 7, which delays the heat conduction to the cum unit support rod 8 at this moment. During a slow coolant temperature rise like in normal startup, the temperatures are the same between the temperature sensing cylinder 7 and the cum unit support rod 8 and thermal expansion difference does not occur. During a rapid coolant temperature rise, the heat conduction to the cum unit support rod 8 is delayed by the heat resister 16 and thus, temperature difference is caused between the temperature sensing cylinder 7 and the cum unit support rod 8, which extends the extension link mechanism 10. The shape of the cum groove 14 is set so that the extension mechanism 10 does not extends until the normal operation temperature and it extends beyond the normal operation temperature.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a control rod shaft extending mechanism capable of depressing a connecting shaft supporting an absorber section with bellows and depressing the absorber section into a core only at the time of the abnormal temperature rise of a coolant. CONSTITUTION:A control rod shaft extending mechanism is provided with a support tube 10 having a handling head 9 at the top section, bellows 13 filled with sodium inside and extendable downward by the expansion of sodium, and an absorber section 2 having a connecting shaft 18 at the upper end. A gap is provided between the bellows 13 and the connecting shaft 18, the extension quantity of the bellows 13 is small and the bellows 13 do not reach the connecting shaft 18 until the normal operating temperature is attained including the fluctuation by the change of the core burnup and the coolant flow distribution error in the core, and the bellows 13 interfere with the connecting shaft 18 to depress the absorber section 2 downward at the normal operating temperature or above.
