    • PURPOSE:To easily treat asbestos materials to pollution-free materials by melting materials which are the mixture composed of municipal waste incineration ashes and asbestos materials and are to be melted in a surface type melting furnace, and thereby melting the materials to be melted at the temp. below the ordinary m.p. of the asbestos materials to form molten slag. CONSTITUTION:The materials 6 to be melted are formed by mixing the municipal waste incineration ashes and the asbestos materials at about 7:3 ratio. The materials 6 to be melted which are stagnated inside of the out-of-furnace cylindrical body 1 are melted with the inclination surface thereof as melting surface by combustion heat of flame of the combustion burner 5. The municipal waste incineration ashes act as a melting assistant at this time and the m.p. of the asbestos materials is thereby lowered. The materials 6 contg. the asbestos materials are melted to the melting slag 8 at the temp. below the ordinary m.p. of the asbestos materials (the in-furnace temp. is required to be increased to about >=1500 deg.C when the asbestos materials alone melt), i.e., about 1355 deg.C. The melt flow of the molten slag 8 begins at about 1375 deg.C and the molten slag 8 beginning to flow by melting flows down along the slopes of the materials 6 and flows out of a slag boat 2 to the outside of an out-of-furnace cylindrical body 1.

    • PURPOSE:To always, properly control the combustion operation without influences of individual differences by judging the combustion state of a main combustion chamber according to patterns previously stored in an image processing unit. CONSTITUTION:Patterns of two or more kinds of molten slags and combustion states corresponding to the patterns of molten slags are previously stored in an image processing unit. For example, in case a molten slag 34 has a thin, lengthy shape, it is stored as a state that the temperature in a furnace is high, and in case the shape of the molten slag is not displayed, it is stored as a state that waste refuse 26 blocks between a furnace outer drum 21 and a furnace inner drum 23 and the supply of the waste refuse 26 to the main combustion chamber 27 is in short. The displayed shape of molten slag 34 is compared with the stored shape of molten slag 34 to detect an identical pattern, and the state of the main combustion chamber 27 at present is judged as a combustion state previously stored in the image processing unit 33 corresponding to the detected pattern to control the combustion operation of a melting furnace. Therefore, the combustion operation of the melting furnace is controlled without influences of individual differences.
