摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a sensitivity to NO, No2 and SO2 gases relatively to a CO sensitivity by including sodium tungstate or sodium molybdate as an Na compound and adding one or more elements selected from B, Mg, etc. SOLUTION: An element part 11 formed of a metallic oxide semiconductor essentially consisting of CuO and having an Na compound and an assisting additive added thereto, and comb-like electrodes 12, 13 connected to the element part 11 for taking out an electric characteristic change due to the presence of a gas to be detected are formed on a ceramic substrate 14. The element part 11 is a thick film. A paste-like substance composed of the CuO, Na compound and assisting additive of particles as essential solid components is printed into touch with the comb-like electrodes 12, 13 and baked, whereby the element part is formed. At an operation time, a constant voltage is impressed between the comb-like electrodes 12 and 13, and a current change because of the presence of the gas to be detected is detected. A CO gas in an exhaust gas discharged from a burning appliance can be selectively detected and therefore the gas sensor is utilizable in various burning appliances.

SOLUTION: Sodium sulfate is added to a composition of a ptype metal oxide semiconductor 11 as a sodium compound. An addition rate of sodium sulfate is preferably 0.5-20 wt.% relative to copper oxide. And, a compound having one or more constitutive elements selected from B, Mg, Al, Si, P, K, Ca, Ti, V, Zn, Y, Mo, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, W, Ta, Pt, Au, Pb, Bi, is preferably included as an auxiliary additive other than the sodium compound.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively reduce CO2 sensitivity to CO sensitivity and detect CO in exhaust gas with high selectivity by using tungstic acid or molybdic acid as Na compound. SOLUTION: A bulk 21 is formed by adding and mixing sodium salt of tungstic acid or molybdic acid to CuO powder after baking followed by baking. The bulk 21 is brought into contact with Au electrodes 22, 23 formed on an alumina base 24 to manufacture a gas sensor. The content of sodium salt of tungstic (molybdic) acid is preferably 0.5-23 (0.4-16) wt.% in terms of tungsten (molybdenum). When a fixed voltage is applied between the Au electrodes 22, 23 to detect the change of current by the presence of a gas to be detected, the sensitivity to CO2 is hardly observed, and CO can be detected with high selectivity.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively detect CO and CO2 by adding Na2 CO3 to a P-type semiconductor in an amt. specified with respect to CuO. SOLUTION: A P-type member 11 is formed from a P-type semiconductor based on CuO and two Au electrodes 12, 13 are connected to the P-type member 11 to take out the change of electrical characteristics caused by the presence of gas to be inspected. A heater for overheating is provided to the rear surface of a ceramic substrate 14 and a gas sensor can be hreated by this heater. At a time of operation, voltage is applied across the Au electrodes 12, 13 and the change of the voltage, current or both of them between the Au electrodes 12, 13 by the presence of the gas to be inspected is detected. The addition amt. of an Na compd. is 1wt.%, or more, desirably, 1-40wt.%, further desirably, 1-20wt.%. of CuO in terms of Na2 CO3 .

摘要： PURPOSE:To fill a powder in a die without forming a bridge in the production of sintered parts. CONSTITUTION:A powder 4 is dropped into a die 1, and a lid member 6 is fixed with ifs hole 6a positioned directly above a core 2. The core 2 is then raised until its upper end face is flush with the upper end face of the die 1, hence the powder 4 on the core 2 is extruded from the hole 6a, and the cavity enclosed by the die 1, core 2 and lower punch 3 is filled with the powder 4. The powder on the upper end faces of the lid member 6 and die 1 is removed, and the powder 4 is compacted by the upper punch 5 and lower punch 3.
