      USE: An agent for combating plant diseases: it shows powerfully fungicidal effect against microorganisms causing plant disease, especially high fungicidal effect against rice blast. It is used by applying it directly to the crops which is desirably kept from diseases, or, when needed, scattering on the growing environment of the crops such as water or soil surface or by mixing it with the soil.
      PREPARATION: For example, the raction of 1,5-benzoazepine derivative of formula II with phosphorus pentasulfide is carried out in a solvent such as pyridine at 20W115°C for 10minW24hr to give a compound of formula I .
