    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the maximum crush load at the initial stage of load input, by providing, within a closed section of a frame located closer to the outer end of the vehicle than a first bead, a knobbed member which is connected to an inner peripheral surface of the frame and partitions the inside of the frame, and connectingly fixing a bumper thereto. SOLUTION: Within a closed section of a frame 86 which continues to the forward of a first bead 92, two knobbed members 10, 20 are provided in parallel in fore and aft direction for reinforcing the frame 86 so that deformation of the shape of the closed section at collision is prohibited. To a first knobbed member 10 located in the front, a reinforcement 30 for a front bumper is connectingly fixed. On the frame 86, the first bead 92 is formed for reducing the initial maximum bearing force, and the first bead 92 is formed along the entire periphery of the frame 86 including all the angular portions. Therefore, the first bead 92 has made all the angular difficult-to-be-crushed portions easily crushable. This reduces the initial maximum bearing force and reduces the initial load at collision sufficiently.
