    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic particle-containing water dispersion capable of exhibiting homogeneous functionality by easy modification and of producing a magnetic particle-containing medicine for diagnosis, therapy and the like, being highly dispersive in an aqueous solution.SOLUTION: In a composite magnetic particulate powder, the particle surface of a magnetic nanoparticle having a primary particle diameter of 10 to 100 nm is coated with a first layer, a second layer and a third layer in this order, where the first layer is a silicon oxide, the second layer is a silane coupling agent, amino acid or polysaccharide having a functional group selected from the group consisting of amino group, carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, azides and alkynes, and the third layer is an amino acid, polysaccharide or imine having a functional group selected from the group consisting of amino group, carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, azides and alkynes, which can be modified by amide bond, ester linkage or click reaction with the functional group on the surface of the second layer.
