    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine of the type in which a solenoid valve is the latch type, i.e., the kind that carries a current for the first few seconds and then excites a magnet, and which can save energy by causing the solenoid valve to carry a current in the event of an abnormality, such as the magnet of the solenoid valve being not withdrawn, so as to prevent the vending machine from stopping cooling.
      SOLUTION: The vending machine includes a compressor suction pipe temperature detecting means 25 for detecting the abnormality of a solenoid valve, a first solenoid valve current-carrying starting means 26 for causing the solenoid valve to carry a current during operation of the compressor, a storage part 27 for storing the temperature set by the first solenoid valve current-carrying starting means 26, and a control part 29 for comparing the temperature detected by the compressor suction pipe temperature detecting means 25 with the temperature stored in the storage part 27, and issuing a signal directing the solenoid valve to carry a current. If the vending machine stops cooling because the solenoid valve is of the latch type and a magnet is not withdrawn because of external impact or the like resulting in refrigerant not flowing, a high-pressure-side cooling solenoid valve and a low-pressure-side cooling solenoid valve are caused to carry currents to avoid the abnormal state of the solenoid valve. By adding currents only when the solenoid valve is in an abnormal state, energy can be saved.
