SOLUTION: A voice is inputted to a voice input device 101, inputted to a signal processor 102, and converted into a time series of feature quantities. An unrestricted similarity calculation device 104 combines models that a learning data holding device 103 holds and outputs a time series of models which is most similar to the time series of feature quantities outputted from the signal processor 102. A recognized word generating device 105 combines models of the holding device 103 according to a recognized word. A restricted similarity calculation device 106 outputs a time series of models constituting the recognized word which is most similar to the time series of the feature quantities outputted from the signal processor 102. An adequacy evaluation device 107 evaluates the adequacy of the recognized word through the unrestricted similarity calculation device 104 and the restricted similarity calculation device 106 and outputs the result as a recognition result.

The 2nd parameter calculating part 515 finds out the estimated value of a forecasted coefficient a1 in the status (i) from various values calculated by the 3rd accumulated sum calculating part 514. The estimated value is stored in a parameter storage part 508 and a total likelihood calculating part 509 finds out the sum of (r) in the likelihood P(X ¦lambda) from the stored parameter estimated value. Consequently, the feature of a change in each feature vector with the lapse of time can be properly expressed.
