    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with excellent automatic running performance.
      SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes driving motor 14 for driving a running roller 10 for running a vacuum cleaner body 1 (hereinafter "a body 1"), and control means 20 for feeding the electric power to the driving motor 14 for prescribed time T1 according to signals from an encoder 12 which detects the direction and/or frequency of rotation of the running roller 10. The power to be fed to the driving motor 14 during prescribed time T2 from the start of power feeding is different from the power fed for a period after the prescribed time T2 till the prescribed time T1. When a hose (not illustrated) is pulled and the running roller 10 is rotated, the rotation is detected by the encoder 12. When the movement of the body 1 is recognized, the power is fed to the driving motor 14 for the prescribed time T2, and the body 1 is immediately made to automatically run, and by changing the power to be fed to the driving motor 14 till the prescribed time T1 elapses after that, the body 1 can be made to automatically run approximately in the same distance for the same prescribed period T1.

The garbage disposer is made to a constitution that a low treatment mode is provided in which a warm-keeping temperature of the treatment vessel is decreased and made to a higher warm-keeping temperature than that of the near freezing point when the garbage throwing detection means does not detect the throwing of the garbage beyond a predetermined time. The garbage disposer with sufficient usage in response to any usage environment can be realized, in which even if the garbage is not thrown for a long period of time, decomposition performance can be more quickly exhibited when the garbage is re-thrown.
