    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which focusing performance is low due to low illuminance. SOLUTION: An automatic focus system carries out focusing by using the phenomenon in which a signal component of a particular frequency band of an imaging signal (image signal) increases as a lens focuses. In the output of the rectification detection wave of a filter used to take out the signal component of the particular frequency band from the image signal, the signal level peaks at a focusing position. By wobbling the focus lens, a signal indicating a focusing direction for each field is obtained. On the basis of the signal, a control signal is generated and supplied to a focusing motor used to move the focus lens. CONSTITUTION:The processor is provided with a signal generator 38 counting a horizontal synchronizing signal obtained by a synchronizing signal generator 38 in the case of reading a signal from a field memory device 44 and resetting the result with a vertical synchronizing signal every other period to generate a memory control signal to read a 263H field and a 262H field alternately and generating a gate signal representing the field period, and a signal processing circuit to add the video signal obtained from a field memory device 44 and an output signal of a 1H delay line 45. Moreover, the processor is provided with a switch circuit 47 switching an output of the field memory device 44 and an output of the signal processing circuit for each field, and a synchronizing signal replacing circuit 48 replacing only the vertical synchronizing signal into the vertical synchronizing signal obtained from the synchronizing signal generator 38. Thus, even when the signal is in the slow still mode, the signal is converted into the standard signal and the picture is reproduced in detail.

The flashing circuit 3, for example, uses a non-stable mono multi vibrator, etc., generates a rectangular signal (b) of 0.5sec for an on period and a rectangular signal of 0.5sec for an off period by the output signal of the comparator 2. The rectangular signal (b) is amplified at a driving circuit 5, supplied to a light emitting element 6 and the light emitting element 6 flickers. On the other hand, when an electric power supply switch 7 of VTR is turned on, the control circuit 4 detects it, and further, by detecting an input of an output signal (a) of the comparator 2, the VTR is kept to an action state for several seconds only and immediately, the electric power supply is turned off.
