    • PURPOSE:To prevent the stripe of an image or the unevenness of development caused by the defective recovery of toner by sticking developer to an eletrostatic latent image holding body having a fixed magnet, carrying and feeding it to an electrode roller part impressing AC bias thereon and removing toner in a non-image part by electrostatic force and magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image is formed by irradiating a photosensitive body 14 with a laser beam 18, and magnetic component toner is stuck to the image by the magnetic force of the magnet 15 in the photosensitive body 14 in a developer storage 19 Then, the photosensitive body 14 is allowed to pass before an electrode roller 21. A toner layer moves between the photosensitive body 14 and the roller 21, and the toner in the non-image part is gradually shifted to the roller 21 side, then a toner image inverted from negative to positive remains only in an image part on the photosensitive body 14. The toner stuck to the roller 21 forms a magnetic brush along magnetic field in the peripheral direction of the roller 21 by the magnet 22 and wholy fed as the magnetic brush by frictional force by the rotation of the roller 21 scraped by a scraper 24, and restored to the developer storage 19, then the roller 21 is used for next image forming again.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably realize the optical static elimination at a low cost and to provide a stable color image with simple constitution by providing an optical static eliminating means to realize the optical static elimination to an electrostatic image carrier at the position between a cleaning means and a charging means. SOLUTION: Four sets of fan-shaped image forming units are arranged in an annular manner at a central part of a device. Each image forming unit is provided with a charging means 10, and electrostatic image carrier 9, a developing means 19, and a cleaning means 27, and a toner image of different colors is formed on the electrostatic image carrier 9. An LED optical static eliminating means 71 to realize the optical static elimination of the electrostatic image carrier 9 is provided at the position between the cleaning means 27 and the charging means 10. The charging characteristic of the electrostatic image carrier 9 is stabilized, the irregular density in one screen of the color image is reduced, and the secular stability of the whole device is improved. Similar effect can be obtained with a halogen lamp, etc., as the optical static eliminating means 71 in place of an LED array.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an image invariably having a uniform line width vertically and horizontally by controlling the laser radiation time in the unit as one picture element. CONSTITUTION:A toner 51 is indiscriminately fed to the charge pattern of an electrostatic image holding member 11, and the unnecessary toner is removed by a developer removing member 54 rotated in the opposite direction to the electrostatic image holding member 11 to form the final image in this method. A laser beam 13 has the resolution of 400 dot/in., and the beam diameter is 90mum in the main scanning direction and 100mum in the auxiliary scanning direction at the 13.5% position of the maximum light quantity. A laser exposure radiation time control circuit 26 can control the laser radiation time from 40% to 100% for each picture element, and the line width is reduced as the radiation time is reduced. When the laser exposure radiation time control circuit 26 is operated and the radiation time for the unit picture element is changed, the line width of vertical lines and horizontal lines can be made uniform.
