    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing device for a vertical type vacuum cleaner capable of preventing a vertical type vacuum cleaner, in particular, part of a nozzle section which part is near its front, from being damaged by impact applied to the vacuum cleaner, for example, in the case where it falls.
      SOLUTION: The packing device includes a vertical type vacuum cleaner body 1 having a body section 3 incorporating a motor chamber 2 in its lower part, and a nozzle section 4 attached to the lower part of the body section 3 so as to be freely inclined. The packing device also includes a handle 5 attached to the body section so as to be freely detached. The packing device further includes a first pat for positioning and protecting the upper end of the vertical type vacuum cleaner body 1 and the handle 5, and a second upper pat 15 and a second lower pat 16 for positioning and protecting the nozzle by sandwiching the nozzle from above and below. A clearance of 15 mm or more is left between an internal face of a box 9 and the front face 22 of the leading end of the nozzle section. A clearance of 15 mm or more is also left between an internal face of the box 9 and either side face 24 of the part of the nozzle section which part is near its leading end. For instance, even in case where the packing device falls and is subject to the application of impact thereto, transmission of impact to the part of the nozzle section 4 which part is near its front and whose strength is low can be prevented. Hence, damage to the part of nozzle section 4 which part is near its front can be prevented.
