    • PURPOSE:To suppress the activity of a methanogen and to effectively decompose and stabilize an organic matter by suppressing the generation of methane in the presence of a sulfate ions in a waste matter to the extent that oozing water from the waste matter is not made acidic. CONSTITUTION:The sulfate ion (SO4 ) scattering to a waste piling facilities 4 is obtained by the oxidation of H2S contained in the oozing water 6 in the oozing water treatment facilities 5. In the case of shortage with only the returning sulfate ions SO4 , e.g. Na2SO4 solutions may be scattered. By providing sulfur monitor 8, the concentration of the sulfur component in the oozing water 6, namely the state of sulfate ion (SO4 ), hydrogen sulfide ion (HS and hydrogen sulfide (H2S), etc., in the waste material layer of the waste material piling facilities is usually monitored. In the case of the shortage of sulfate ions (SO4 ), the increase in the quantity of the returning water or the scattering of Na2SO4 solution, etc., is used. By this method, the generation of the gaseous methane is suppressed, and, the unfavorable influence on human body and plants, etc., odor problem and the application of remaining lands are solved. Thus, this method is useful for preventing the warming of the earth's atmosphere.

    • PURPOSE:To effect a simple and efficient purification of pond water by producing an upward stream of air bubbles in a vertical passage of a cylindrical frame installed in the pond water to create the upward motion of the pond water, thereby inducing a flow of the pond water transverse to a decontamination contact layer provided in said frame. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical frame 1 is installed at a suitable location in a pond 11, so that said frame will extend from slightly above the pond bed 5 to above the water surface 6 of the pond. The air is then sent from a nozzle 8A near the pond bed 5 into a vertical passage 2 of the frame 1 to produce an upward stream of air bubbles 9, which creates the upward motion of the pond water 4, thereby inducing a flow of the pond water 4 transverse to a decontamination contact layer 3 in the cylindrical frame 1. The pond water 4 is subjected to a biological treatment while passing through the decontamination contact layer 3 for digestion and removal of the polluted material from the pond water 4 by microorganisms retained in said contact layer 3. The pond water 4 thus purified is sent back into the pond through the cylindrical frame 1.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive to improve solid-liquid separation efficiency, by recirculating waste water in the up-and-down direction across the pipe wall of the inner pipe of an aeration tank and supplying air to waste water during recirculation to perform aeration treatment. CONSTITUTION:An aeration tank 2 has an upright inner pipe and an outer pipe 4 mutually communicated at the upper end parts and lower end parts thereof and a rising part U and a downward part D are formed across the pipe wall of the inner pipe to recirculate waste water in the up-and-down direction within the aeration tank 2. Air is injected in waste water during recirculation from a blower 5 through an air feed pipe 6 to perform aeration treatment. Thereafter, waste water is introduced into an ultrafiltration membrane apparatus 20 having an ultrafiltration membrane formed of a collodion membrane or a cured cellophane membrane to separate a solid component. By this method, solid-liquid separation is efficiently performed.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the speed of a waste water treatment by hermetically communicating the waste water-microorganism mixture in a bioreaction vessel to a centrifugal separator, separating the mixture to a thickened liquid and clean liquid and hermetically returning the thickened liquid from the centrifugal separator to the bioreaction vessel. CONSTITUTION:The treated water in the liquid mixture 3 in the centrifugal separator 23 shifts to the clean liquid 25 and the greater part of the bacteria therein remain in the thickened liquid 24 and, therefore, the liquid 24 contains the bacteria at a high concn. The bacteria in the liquid 3 sent first to the centrifugal separator 23 by a circulation pump 22 are thickened and are returned to the bioreaction vessel 20 when the liquid 24 is returned to the vessel 20. The clean liquid 25 is discharged as treated water 6 through a water sealing device 26 in an ordinary operation. However, the liquid 25 is fed into the vessel 20 through a liquid level control valve 27 when the water level L in the vessel 20 is lowered by a decrease in the inflow rate of the waste water 1, etc.
