    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience, to save a space and to attain cost reduction by using a bed not only as an ordinary sleeping bed but also as a sofa for relaxing. SOLUTION: In this storage type bed, a top plate 4b is attached to the upper part of upper face-opened almost box-shaped bed bodies 2a, 3a and 4a (top plates of bed bodies 2a and 3a are not shown in Figure) so as to open/close an opening and the bed is provided with plural bed components 2, 3 and 4 to be arranged in one line for constituting the bed in a prescribed size. Cushion bodies (sheets) 6a, 6b and 6c are respectively provided on the top plate 4b of the respective bed components 2, 3 and 4 and with the almost middle in the breadthwise direction of the bed bodies 2a, 3a and 4a (in the direction of an arrow B) as a border, the respective cushion bodies 6a, 6b and 6c are devided into fixed part 9 fixed on the top plate 4b and backrest part 10 to be reversibly turned in the said breadthwise direction from horizontal state to prescribed reclining state in respect to the fixed part by a reclining mechanism.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed having a lifting mechanism capable of causing the bed to rise and fall steplessly and smoothly and excellent in operability and safety. SOLUTION: A pair of lifting mechanisms 10 are arranged in opposed relation on both sides in a longitudinal direction of a bed base 1, on which a cushioning body is placed. Each of the lifting mechanisms 10 is so constructed that a leg member 11 pivotably joined to the bed base 1 is linked to a gas cylinder 20 so as not to rapidly raise and fold the leg member 11 owing to the action of the gas cylinder 20.
