    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric field alignment method for a ferroelectric liquid crystal by which the alignment of ferroelectric liquid crystal cells can be recovered and ferroelectric liquid crystal cells can be aligned by using a driving circuit used for normal driving, and to provide a liquid crystal display using the above method.
      SOLUTION: In the electric field alignment method for a liquid crystal display and in the liquid crystal display using the method, the ferroelectric liquid crystal cells are subjected to electric field alignment by simultaneously supplying a first voltage to Vcom terminal formed on a source printed circuit board and supplying a second voltage to GND terminal formed on the source printed circuit board, and then by simultaneously supplying the first voltage to Vcom terminal formed on a gate printed circuit board and supplying the second voltage on GND terminal formed on the gate printed circuit board.
