    • PURPOSE: To remove the unreacted oil componet from a slurry of an anionic surface active agent containing said oil component, in high efficiency, with small amount of steam, preventing the foaming of the slurry, by introducing steam continuously into the slurry under specific pressure to effect the gas-liquid contact, and releasing the steam to a low-pressure atmosphere.
      CONSTITUTION: A slurry of an anionic surface active agent containing unreacted oil component, e.g. an aqueous slurry containing 10W50wt% of a surface active agent and containing 5W50wt%, based on the surface active agent, of unreacted oil component, is introduced into the pressure vessel 4 through the line 1. Saturated steam heated at 130W250°C is introduced continuously into the vessel 4 while keeping the pressure in the vessel at ≥5kg/cm
      2 , preferably 7W50kg/cm
      2 to effect the thorough contact of the gas and the liquid (for 5W30min.), and flushed into the cyclone-type gas-liquid separator 6 maintained to atmospheric pressure. The objective surface active agent slurry is obtained from the bottom 9 of the apparatus 6. The process is especially effective for the treatment of internal olefinsulfonic acid salt and paraffinsulfonic acid salt having poor reactivity for sulfonation and containing a large amount of unreacted oil component.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality sultone useful as a raw material for preparing a detergent, an antistatic agent, etc. simply and safely, and to use the remaining sulfonate effectively, by aging a reaction product obtained by sulfonating an olefin, adding a basic aqueous solution with a high concentration to it. CONSTITUTION:10-20C olefin is sulfonated, the reaction product is aged at 20- 150 deg.C (preferably at 40-80 deg.C), and a basic aqueous solution (e.g., >=40wt% aqueous solution of NaOH) with a high concentration is added to it, so that sultone is expelled from the micell of a sulfonate to the outside, separated as a continuous phase, and recovered by settled separation, centrifugation, filtration, etc. Since the remaining sulfonate can be recovered in a state nearly free from thermal decomposition, it is usable as an approximately pure anionic surface active agent with a high concentration. USE:A raw material for preparing a detergent, cosmetic, antistatic agent, auxiliary for fiber, etc.
