    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single layer type electrophotographic photoreceptor or the like which does not give rise to a memory image.
      SOLUTION: The single layer type electrophotographic photoreceptor or the like used by being electrostatically charged to a positive polarity in the image forming apparatus not having a destaticizing process, is constituted by forming a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate and incorporating a phthalocyanine compound, a hole transfer agent, an electron transfer agent and a binder resin into the photosensitive layer. The content of the hole transfer agent is 5 to 500 wt% of the weight of the binder resin. Also, the content of the phthalocyanine compound is 0.1 to 4 wt% of the weight of the binder resin and the film thickness of the photosensitive layer is 10 to 35 μm. In addition, the electrostatic charge potential is set at 800 V and the absolute value difference in the sensitivity between the positive polarity and negative polarity measured after lapse of ≤500 msec under conditions of an exposure wavelength 780 nm and exposure energy 1.0 μJ/cm
      2 and the absolute value of the positive polarity sensitivity is made smaller than the absolute value of the negative polarity sensitivity.

The flanges 22 and 23 are respectively provided with a locking groove 17 and an engaging ridge 18 so as to surround the accommodating space 7. SOLUTION: A non-contact type transfer roller 54 is controlled by a control part so that the polarity of the roller 54 when a paper passes through, that is, in operation of transferring an image to the transfer paper, may be completely opposite to the polarity of the roller 54 when the paper does not pass through, that is, in a period from the end of transferring the image to a certain transfer paper to the start of transferring the image to the following transfer paper. That is, in the same way as in the conventional practice, a positive voltage opposite to the charged polarity of the photoreceptor surface is applied on the non-contact type transfer roller 54 when the paper passes through, whereas, a negative voltage which is the same as the charged polarity of the photoreceptor surface is applied on the roller 54 when the paper does not pass through. Thus, the lowering of the potential at the non paper passing part on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 51 occurred at transferring to a small-sized transfer paper is recovered, then, the fogging and the soiling on the rear side of the transfer paper, etc., are prevented.
