    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor that suppresses generation of image failure by suppressing a transfer memory, in an image forming apparatus including a DC voltage application-type charging unit employing a contact charging method; and an image forming apparatus that includes the positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor as an image carrier.SOLUTION: The positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate, and contains a pyrene derivative represented by the following general formula (1) used as a hole transport agent. In the general formula (1), each of Rand Ris an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms which may be the same or different with each other, and a, b, and c independently is an integer of 0 to 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor that suppresses the transfer memory to suppress the occurrence of image failure, and has a large degree of freedom in selection of materials constituting the photosensitive layer in an image forming apparatus that includes a charging unit employing a contact charging method, and uses the positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor; and an image forming apparatus that includes the positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor as an image carrier.SOLUTION: A positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by forming a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate, and used in an image forming apparatus that includes a charging unit employing a contact charging method. The photosensitive layer contains an electron transport agent having the reduction potential of -0.85 to -0.55 V(vs. Ag/Ag).
