    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the crack on the end surface of a standing-up part of a large trough or the crack on the end surface of the tip part of a trough for molten iron with a simple method without renewing an iron shell.
      SOLUTION: In the standing-up part of the large trough or the tip part of the tough for molten iron, the upper part of the iron shell 2 is fixed with a bar 8 so as to bridge at the right angle to the flowing direction of the molten iron. Therefor, an opening-preventive tool 1 for trough iron shell, composed of; a hinge part 7 arranged at the upper part of the iron shell 2; the bar 8 arranged so as to be rotatable at a base end part in the hinge part 7; and a receiving part 9 for fixing the tip end part of the bar 8 so as to be freely fitted/removed, is used. Further, penetrating holes are arranged at the tip end part of the bar 8 and the receiving part 9 and the penetrating hole arranged at the tip end part of the bar 8 is the same as or shorter in the length along the longitudinal direction of the bar 8 than the penetrating hole arranged at the receiving part 9, and under state of positioning the tip end part of the bar 8 to the receiving part 9, the inside end part of the penetrating hole arranged at the tip end part of the bar 8 is made to position to the base end part side of the bar 8 from the inside end part of the penetrating hole of the bar arranged at the receiving part 9. Then, the tip end part of the bar 8 is made to be freely fitted/removed to the receiving part 9 by fitting/removing cotters 14 in these penetrating holes.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repairing method for preventing a tapping hole from being damaged by sufficiently filling a brick joint, crack and a cave with a repairing material without using a special device, and to provide a repairing material to be used therefor. SOLUTION: In a method for repairing the tapping hole by forming a bore 7 into a predetermined depth in the tapping hole 11 blockaded with a mud material 10, with a drill, and then pressing a soft repairing material 5 mainly containing a fire-resistant fine powder and a carbonaceous binder into the bore 7 with a mud gun 1, this repairing method comprises: charging the repairing material 5 in front of a cylinder 2, and charging a hard material 6 harder than the repairing material 5 behind it; and when pressing the repairing material 5 into the bore 7, pressing the repairing material 5 through the hard material 6 with the use of a piston pressure from the backside of the hard material 6, to press the repairing material 5 into the bore 7. The repairing material 5 mainly contains 50 to 85 mass% of fire-resistant fine powders with a grain size of 1 mm or smaller and the carbonaceous binder, and the fire-resistant fine powder contains at least 50 mass% of graphite fine powders with respect to the total weight of the fire-resistant fine powder and the carbonaceous binder.
