    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for horizontal-type centrifugal casting, by which excellent productivity is secured, and by which a casting die is sufficiently protected against molten metal to suppress generation of casting defects.
      SOLUTION: A refractory spraying pipe 6, which moves together with a casting gutter 4 in the axial direction relatively to a casting die 1, is arranged in parallel with the casting gutter 4. An mixture B of powdery alumina, which has a melting point higher than the casting temperature of the molten metal, and ferrosilicon as an inoculant is sprayed on the inner surface of the casting die 1 from a nozzle 6a on the tip end of the refractory spraying pipe 6 before the place where a molten metal A is poured. Thereby, excellent productivity is secured, and further the casting die 1 is sufficiently protected against the molten metal A, so that generation of casting defects is suppressed.
